ABSTRACT

Objective To establish a method to determine 11 main components in Hanshi yufei decoction. Methods The method adopted UHPLC-MS/MS with an Agilent ZORBAX SB-C18 (3.5 μm,2.1 mm×150 mm) column. The mobile phase was consisted of 0.2% formic acid plus 10 mmol/L ammonium acetate aqueous solution(A) - acetonitrile(B) and gradient elution (0–0.6 min, 80%–40%A; 0.6–1 min, 40%–30%A; 1–4.3 min, 30%–5%A) at 0.3 ml/min. The column temperature was 40 ℃ and 11 main components including vanillic acid, magnolol, honokiol, wogonin, sophorin, 6-gingerol, citrinin, qianghuo alcohol, nobiletin, nodakenin, and hesperidin were quantified in a multiple reaction monitoring mode. The reserpine was the standard. Results The 11 main components in Hanshi Yufei decoction had a good linear relationship within their concentration range (r>0.98), and the average recovery was 93.11%~111.73%. Conclusion The UHPLC-MS/MS method established in this experiment is easy to operate and has good reproducibility, which provides a laboratory basis for the quality control of Hanshi Yufei decoction.

ABSTRACT

Objective To systematically evaluate the effect of metformin on the prognosis of patients with breast cancer. Methods The databases including PubMed, Embase, Cochrane Library, ClinicalTrials, ScineceDirect, CBM, CNKI, Wanfang database and VIP were electronically searched from their inception to April 18, 2018 to collect the studies about the effect of metformin on the prognosis of patients with breast cancer. According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, two reviewers screened the literatures independently, extracted data and assessed methodological quality. The meta-analysis was performed by using Review Manager 5.1 software. Results A total of 2 randomized controlled trials and 17 cohort studies involving 8929 patients were included. The meta-analysis showed that compared with control group, the metformin group marked increase in pathologic complete remission (pCR) rate (RR=2.97, 95%CI 1.80-4.90, P<0.01) and cancer-specific survival (CSS) time was prolong significantly (RR= 0.70, 95%CI 0.57-0.87, P= 0.001). Subgroup analysis of the overall survival (OS) time according to different areas showed that the metformin group's OS time was prolong significantly (Europe and America studies subgroup: RR=0.75, 95%CI 0.65-0.86, P<0.01; Asian studies subgroup:RR=0.48, 95%CI 0.37-0.61, P<0.001). Conclusion The use of metformin is positive for the prognosis of patients with breast cancer, it may improve the pCR rate, CSS and OS time of patients.

ABSTRACT

Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of moxibustion in treating perimenopausal syndrome (PMS).Method Totally 108 PMS patients of yang deficiency or yin deficiency constitution were randomized into a treatment group of 56 cases and a control group of 52 cases. The treatment group was intervened by moxibustion, while the control group was by medication. The modified Kupperman Index (KI), Hamilton Anxiety Scale (HAMA), Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90), and Self-rating Depression Scale (SDS) were observed before and after treatment for comparison.Result The KI score, HAMA score, SCL-90 total score, and SDS score were significantly changed in both groups after intervention (P<0.01,P<0.05). After treatment, the KI score, HAMA score, SCL-90 total score, and SDS score in the treatment group were significantly different from that in the control group (P<0.01,P<0.05).Conclusion Moxibustion is effective in treating PMS, and it can improve the anxiety and depression symptoms of the patients.

ABSTRACT

To optimize the electroporation system in Dunaliella salina (D. salina), we studied the effects of growth phase of cells, electric parameters, electroporation buffer and concentration of plasmid on transformation efficiency. The results showed that a transformation efficiency of 1.81 per thousand was achieved in D. salina cells at mid-log growth phase electroporated with plasmid (DCA-bar) 10 microg/mL, voltage 0.8 kV and capacitance 25 microF. However, when glycerol was added to electroporation buffer at a final concentration of 0.4 mol/L, the transformation efficiency was increased up to 2.03 per thousand. Additionally, transformation was done with plasmids DCA-bar, NR-bar, pUomega-bar respectively, under above optimum conditions, and similar transformation efficiencies were obtained. The findings indicate that an efficient and stable system of electroporation in D. salina has been developed, providing a powerful tool for the transgenic research of D. salina.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To investigate the relationship between the variation of bacterial-resistant and the consumption of antibacterial drugs. METHODS:The DDDs and its sequence of antibacterial drugs in 70 hospitals in Shanxi province over 3 years and the synchronic annual resistant rates of some pathogenic bacteria were analyzed statistically and the correlation between the variation of bacterial-resistant and the drug consumption was analyzed. RESULTS:In terms of variety,there was no obvious change for the top twenty antibacterial drugs. The antibacterial drugs with high DDDs thus ranked the lead were those kinds that with high bacterial drug resistance. At a value of over 50%,the bacterial drug resistance rate would not decrease obviously with the variation of the drug consumption. The drug resistance rate increased greatly with the increase of the consumption of the forth generation of cephalosporins cefepime. The consumption of vancomycin increased,but its resistance rate decreased. The antibacterial compound preparation showed satisfactory antibacterial activity even if its consumption had a marked increase. CONCLUSION:There is a direct relation between the consumption of antibacterials in large quantity and the variation of drug resistance. It is necessary to strengthen clinical management on antibacterials to raise rational drug use level.

ABSTRACT

Objective To investigate the early prediction,diagnosis and treatment of thoracic injury complicated by adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).Methods The blood gas,occurrence index of traumatic ARDS,pathogenic bacteria and drug sensitivity in ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP) were analyzed retrospectively in 18 cases of thoracic injury.Results The initial PaCO 2 was (32.1?5.2) mm Hg,PaO 2 (57.7?10.1) mm Hg,the occurrence index of traumatic ARDS (-29.00?11.50) and the mechanical ventilation time 6.4 days on average.Of the infective bacterium of VAP,gram negative bacterium took up 70.6%, gram positive bacterium 17.10%,fungus 12.30% and the mixed infection 31.60% with the total mortality of 16.6%.Conclusion The occurrence index of traumatic ARDS can be used as a parameter of the early prediction and outcome.Meanwhile multiple injuries and shock should be treated correctly,ventilator applied earlier and the mechanical ventilation time shortened.It suggests that more attention should be paid to the prevention of VAP and the reasonable use of antibiotic drugs.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the status quo and the tendency of the use of narcotic analgesics in patients with cancer in our hospital.METHODS:The use of narcotic analgesics in the inpatients with cancer between 2005 and 2008 in our hospital was analyzed statistically in respect of the consumption sum,number of patients using this drug and the prescriptions etc.RESULTS:Morphine Sulfate Controlled release Tablets(10 mg) was not welcome by both physicians and patients; however,the consumption sum and DDDs of Fentanyl transdermal patches and Morphine Sulfate Controlled-release Tablets (30 mg) had been dominated the front places over the 4 years.The consumption quantity of common Morphine tablets kept steady increase yet no obvious change has been noted in average dose per prescription;however,the per capita consumption quantity has been increasing.Bucinnazine hydrochloride tables as an two step analgesics kept decreasing in consumption.The total consumption of Morphine injection and Bucinnazine injection were decreasing on the whole.CONCLUSION:The use of narcotic analgesics for patients with cancer in our hospital is in line with the principle of cancer pain three-step analgesic ladder recommended by WHO.
